Default Thermal fuse blown?
Model Number: KUDP01FLWH2   Brand: Kitchen Aid   Age: 5 - 10 years

Can I determine if the fuse is blown by a visual check? I removed the fuse and it looks fine - but there was a strong burning odor before the cycle started and the DW is now dead. I'm assuming/hoping its the fuse as it blew about a year ago and was replaced by a tech with new wires.

You can not visually check an electric parts. It has to be checked for continuity.

I do not think the problem is a fuse because it does not produce any smell. Remove the bottom panel, open the junction box on the right side and check for burned wires.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KUDP01FLWH2
