 PLEASE HELP! Start the timer dial on pots and pans or normal wash. The timer will run for a while. It will fill, wash, drain and refill and start to wash and then the timer stops. The timer dial has to be operated manually for each stage to finish the whole wash cycle.

If the dishwasher is turned off and not run for awhile the timer will work in any stage of the full wash cycle and the drying stage. It will eventually stop.

The boost thermostat has been replaced and that hasn't made a difference.

Thank you for your help.

Yes the heating delay light stays on when the timer stops. I tested it this morning. I started the dial on NORMAL WASH and it kept working all the way through LIGHT/CHINA The timer stopped and I let it sit for a while and nothing happened. I opened the door part way and let it sit for about 5min. Shut the door and the timer dial started working again and the washer started going again. The heating delay light came on. I checked to see if the timer was running and it wasn't. The heating delay stayed light on for almost 15 minutes then went off. The timer started up and the dish washer ended that part of the cyle and the quit. The timer was not running. I opened the door and there was still water in the washer. I helped the dial manually to finish it up.

Sorry for the delay.

Check the heating element for continuity. If the heating element is good, replace the timer.

:) Gene, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I didn't have a chance to check the heating element until this morning. I haven't used a ohm meter very much. I set the dial at 200k and got a reading of 22.3. The manual says that it should have a reading of 22. I am assuming that the element is good and am going to order the timer. Thank you for your help! JEV.

JEV,

You have to set the ohmmeter on lowest possible scale.

The following article on our forum will explain in detail how to run a continuity test using either an analog meter or a digital meter - How To Check Continuity With Ohmmeter

I went back and checked and found out I had the scale on 200 not on 200k. The meter read 22.3. So I'm thinking I should order the timer.
