Hello. I need to replace the manifold probe on my whirlpool dishwasher. The part number is 8268328 or AP3082739.
My question is, which way does the probe face when it is inserted into the tube? does it go in line or across? Thank you in advance

Hi. The manifold probe is mounted to the manifold on the bottom of the top rack. It lets water go to the spinner under the top rack. It fell while cleaning and broke off the probe. It has a wierd shape probe that sticks into the water tube. Its on most whirlpool and kenmore dishwashers. If you pull out the top rack you can see the little stub sticking out. It either goes side ways or straight in line. John

Ok, I understand what you mean now, it has to go in -line otherwise water wouldnt be able to flow thru it, it shoud only fit one way, the rack portion should line up with the rear wall manifold , some models have two holes when the rack is adjustable up or down.

Ok Thanks. I thought so but since the shape is like a triangle I thought it might be to impead some water flow to the top spinner while letting more water to the middle rack . It just plugs into the round end of the manifold and can turn. They should notch it some how. Part # here is AP3082739
Thanks again
