Model Number: SHX99A15UC/31 Brand: Bosch Age: 1 - 5 years
My Bosch dishwasher's soap dispenser will not open as it should. I have read the forum's posts on how to remove the outer door to get to the dispenser, but cannot get the door off.
I removed the six Torx screws on the side of the door that fasten the outer and inner doors together. Then I could pull the bottom of the outer door out about 1 1/2 inches. Even though I pushed down very hard on the top of the door, I could move the outer door down only about 1/8 of an inch below the fascia panel. What else should I be doing? No other screws seem to be holding the outer door. Model No. is SHX99A15UC/31. Thanks! Ads By Google Related Models |

Instead of pushing the outer door down you have to pull it up.

4 more Torx screws along the top seem to hold the fascia panel and frame. Does removing them sound like the way to go? I'm hesitant to take unknown things apart. |

Have you removed the two screws on the top door corners? They should be longer than other screws.

I'm curious as to how the dispenser is supposed to work. Here's what I think. When you rock the right side of a plastic "seesaw" down, it releases the detergent door. It also trips a plastic link connected to a lever that engages what looks like a piston in the center of the dispenser unit. The next time the "seesaw" rocks, it pulls the (tripped) link and the lever and raises the piston. I guess that the piston pumps JetDry into the dishwasher. Opening the door disengages the link so that next time the dishwasher runs, the seesaw opens the detergent door the first time it rocks and pumps JetDry the second time it rocks. What's still mysterious is what rocks the "seesaw." Something I can't see (wax motor?). |
