just recently my Kenmore 665 stop worked properly, the control panel will only allow us to select the "quick" cycle. No other cycle will light up when the buttons are pressed and the quick cycle is useless for cleaning dishes.

Assuming it is the control panel what is involved in replacing it?

Ben,
You will have to partially disassemble the door to replace the control board. pretty easy to do.

i am not so much worried about the actual replacement but more the diagnosis. Is there any way to diagnosis that it is for sure the control panel?

If you have your wiring diagram there should be a test proceedure listed for testing the ribbon cable, to make sure it's feeding power thru it. If no diagram them using an ohm meter you can start at one side of the cable and test each pin for continuity while pushing each button. Very time comsuming.

no i have no idea, i dont have any documents it came with the home i purchased/. i am not the original owner

If you have a kick plate it should be attached there or inside the control panel.

the factory service guide is in the kick panel but no receipt or anything that has a date on it. the touch panel costs $170.00 i am wondering if its actually worth it to repair

Yopu can get just the parts you need too you don't have to prchase the whole assembly unless needed (about $100) Repair vs. Replacement is generally a personal call. I tend to fix as opposed to replace.

ok so i took the control touch panel apart this morning, the ribbon cable the goes all along the front for the buttons has 4 burnt point which is exactly the amount of buttons that dont work. apparently the ribbon cable and the whole button assembley are all one piece glued into the panel does anyone know if you can replace just the ribbon cable/buttons and not the entire front panel??
