ah right....wish it was that simple - both sides of the motor are single spades (flat metal)..the two and one things you see in the pic are just marks on the flat metal not pins. I need to somehow find out if the pink wire connects to N or L.

I can't see on the picture which is the N or L, but this looks like a used pump and as stated before the pink will go on the right & blue on the left.

yes it is the old damaged one that I took out. I just used it to take the photo. As you look at the photo photo N is left and L is right. So you are suggesting the Blue goes to N and Pink to L? If it is the wrong way will I damage the new pump/rest of dishwasher/or risk fire hazard?

Yes that would be correct hookup and it wouldn't hurt the pump if you accidentally hook it up wrong unless is 240V or something.....
