My dishwasher supply hose that goes from the pump(I think) from the bottom center of the appliance, around the outside(under the insulation) and to the top center to supply water to the sprayer assembly for the top shelf sprung a leak. The leak was at the bottom, close to the hose clamp attaching to the pump. I have the new part, and the hose connection at the bottom poses no problems, however the top connection is a different story.

This hose has a soft 90 degree elbow with a flange - all one piece. The original hose seems to be embedded in a pool of goop. I forced my fingers through it (they are still sticky after 3 washings) and tugged on the supply line and it easily came out. I am tempted to simply force the replacement line through the same hole, but without pouring new "goop" around it, my common sense tells me that it is certain to leak, (I figure the water is under pressure?) The old hose pulled out awful easily - the flange is similar to soft rubber.

Do I need to get some "goop" and where do I find it? Or do i stick it in and hope for the best? (The dishwasher is on hardwood floors - so a leak is a major event.) Thank you!
