How can Part number AP178627 be bench tested?

It is the Wax Motor for the rinse dispenser in a Maytag dishwasher, and it is out of stock.

The old dishwasher (used for cleaning car parts) dispenses fine so removed the wax motor and installed it in the kitchen dishwasher. Nothing, still no dispensing in the kitchen.

Bench testing to compare the two motors found nothing. I made up a patch cord with female terminals which attached to the lugs on the wax motor and switched power on momentarily, neither wax motor moved the plunger.

If applying power does nothing, what is the correct method of bench testing the wax motor?

Thanks

It takes a bit of time for the wax to become soft, try again.
