Default dishwasher draining all the time
Model Number: du55ca-01   Brand: Magic Chef   Age: More than 10 years

It seems to be draining all the time. It adds water like it is supposed to, the water will just start coming out the sprayers, then the drain solonoid assembly starts working, draining for a few seconds, then not draining for a few seconds, then back to draining. Is this solonoid bad? At first i thought it was the level switch, but i dont think so now as it does let water in.

Click for parts breakdown.

There is a solenoid under the dishwasher that changes the pump from wash to drain. Try moving the arm that opens and closes the valve by hand, it could be stuck and once broken free it may work. Also check the return spring isnt damaged. Also make sure the float for the water level isnt stuck in the up position.

Click for drain solenoid kit.

If the solenoid is getting voltage at all time then it could be the timer is sending voltage at all times.

Click for timer.

If it is the timer you may want to think twice about spending $150.00 on a 10yr+ dishwasher.
