My dishwasher flashes drain and rinse buttons at the same time. We turned off power and it reset and worked for a while, but then it happened again. THis happened a couple times but now it will not reset by turning power off. I changed the circuit box #8564542 (which is a little different) but only certain buttons work, not all. Please help!

Based on the technical data sheet,

You have a bad touch panel.
(click on AP number for part information)

Part number: AP3138256
Part number: AP3138256

The technical data sheet in your unit is attached to the backside of the kickpanel, should you wish to run any additional tests or varify my suggestion.

I was told by this website, that the touch panel does not come with anything except plastic part.Meaning there are no electronics attached. On my original touch panel, there is a connecting tape that would plug in to circuit. Is that included? Do I need to purchase that?
I really appreciate all you assistance.

I'm a little confused

I don't have a 360 degree view of the control panel part.

But I'm sure the touchpad ribbon would be attached and not shown in the picture I sent you.

The information I do have, indicates that your unit does have a touchpad and ribbon assembly, that plugs into the control board.

As long as our information(from the manufacturer) is correct, you'll get what you need.

:)

i want to thank you. We got the part. Replaced the control board, (cheaper than any other site) and did the first load yesterday. It was wonderful to hear it work again. You knew more than the Kitchen Aide site itself. This forum and this website is unbelievable and i will recommend it to everyone i know. I feel really accomplished by doing it ourselves and saved at least $400 dollars in labor and the cost of the part itself.

Thank you again

Hi Joe
You helped me previously replace the control touch on my dishwasher kitchen aide. Last night it was running and in the middle of cleaning. We checked to see if there is power going to the unit and there is. Do We need to replace the whole board now? Please help you helped soooo much last time.

Fawn,

I almost missed it, but I think the dishwasher went dead during a wash cycle, correct ?

Since you do have power to the dishwasher,

First thing you want to check is the control panel thermo-fuse.

Part number: AP3178588
Part number: AP3178588

You've replaced the control panel, and had to have dealt with it, at that time.

If there is an open circuit on that fuse, it shuts the power to the control board off, and the dishwasher goes dead.

Of course, you may need to check the door switches and wiring down to the junction box on the dishwasher, if that fuse has a closed circuit.

You don't want to start at the control board first, that should be the last thing to check at this point, since the machine was working fine, unless there are obvious indications of damage on the board, when you open up the control panel.

Let us know, if or when you need help, and what you find wrong.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Hi again,
I know you already helped me 2times with my dishwasher and i thank you. I have another problem with me GE monogram range top. It is working but it is cracked in 2 places. Is it possible to just replace the glass or do i have to purchase a whole new range?

Thank you again.

Fawn, You shouldn't need to replace the range. You will need to replace the cooktop portion of the range. If you can supply us with a model number from the range, we can assist you with a part number and basic "how to" instructions, just like before. In the mean time, try not to use the cooktop, it could shatter and create more isuues and possible personal injury.

Thanks,
