Model Number: mdb5000awb Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Our float is detached from the lever actuator but the palnut is attached to the float. How do i attach the float to the lever?

Most likely the stem of the float is broken. Normally it just goes through and pushes the switch when there is no water.

The float pushes on the switch under the dishwasher when there is no water, causing the switch to close the circuit for the water valve.
If the float comes up with water, it releases the switch, causing the circuit to open. Gene.
