have checked all drainage hoses and cleaned arms, etc. Water is standing in the bottom of dishwasher and smells horrible!!

You will need to pull spray arm and upper housing. There is a check ball in there that may be blocked, just clean out. Also, make sure the dishwasher sidewinder pump is pumping water in wash mode.
