Dishwasher Repair

the dishwasher is trying to run even though the door is open.

When the on/off switch is depressed (on):
The display on top of the door is off.
the display on the front indicates that the wash cycle is on.
the dishwasher sounds like it is filling with water.

When the on/off switch is out (off):
no lights anywhere

always:
the latch will not catch.

Should I automatically replace the door latch?

I would recommend to replace the door lock assembly which comes with the door switch.

- The part number for the door lock assembly is AP2825197

Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher Model SHY56A05 UC/14 (FD8301-)
