Dishwasher Repair

A week ago (literally, 2 months to the day after the warranty expired), our dishwasher ceased being usable on anything other than "Speed Clean", "Top Rack", or "Rinse". No other modes will "light" when you press their buttons. I'm not sure if maybe there is a component that these remaining functions do not use that the others do (hence the reason for only some functions working). I'm wondering if anyone here has any suggestions for troubleshooting this type of error. I do have some rudimentary electronics troubleshooting knowledge.

To further add insult to injury, the Whirlpool dishwasher that this replaced was 30 years old and STILL WORKING!!! (The Missus was sick of looking at it. Ugh!!!)
