Drain Pump runs continuously, leaving 1/2 C water in sump.

Removed drain hose...no obsturctions
Removed drain pump cover (part AP2802379), found two kernels of unpopped corn (go figure). cover is slightly abraided on bottom edge that is straight and appears to be level with the center of the impeller.

Should I replace this and hope for the best or dig deeper?

FWIW - I replaced the control board and some trim last year, so I recently have several hundred invested in a 8+ year old unit.
