Timer not completing full cycle
Model Number: GSD1200T03XX Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
Our GE dishwasher doesn't always want to complete a full cycle. When it doesn't function properly, the timer seems to hang up at the beginning of the 'RINSE AND HOLD (PRESS OPTIONS RESET)' mark. I replaced the timer approximately 2 years ago thinking that it was the suspect, but the problem reoccurred within about 6 uses and has been intermittent ever since, just like before. It seems to me that when you try to advance the timer physically beyond that position, there is an abnormal amount of resistance at this one particular spot. This would lead me to believe that the problem might possibly be due to some other part. Any ideas?
Even though this unit is over 10 years od, it doesn't get alot of use............ maybe averaging 1-2 times per month at the most, so I feel that repairing it vice investing in a new appliance is the way to go. Any/all suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and consideration. Rob
