I have a whirlpool calypso that agitates but then stops and all you hear is a very quiet buzzing sound. It also throws water up and over the top of the washer. Does this sound like a water pump? I know that the pump is not pumping water through the hose but I need to know if that would cause these problems. There may be a cycle between washing and pumping out the water and therefore it’s not pumping because it hasn’t made it that far.??? Will a water pump go out suddenly or gradually on these washers?
