I own a appliance service co. serving the State College and surrounding area. Started the business 22 years ago and it's very successful. I don't do warranty work but do service for Penn. State U. and insurance companies.
It's a one man operation with low overhead, so I try to keep the repair cost down. Sort of get swamped at times and may re-hire help.
For expensive parts, I have a decent selection of used motors and other assemblies that are guaranteed. Many times the use of a used part will make the repair worth while to a customer.
I am proud to be an active member in this fine repair forum adding several technical repair articles and responding to help requests to save people money. My response name is "richappy".
