Justncase, how old is this washer? I can't even get the model number to come up. I did a back search from the rear tub bearing (not a complete number by the way) and I'm looking at GE washer models starting with WBVH62. I don't think you will find a lot of technicians with much experience on these machines. These models are either still under warranty or are just now beginning to come out of warranty. No manuals either. If GE sent you the part at no charge, that means that at the very least this washer still has part warranty. I would ask GE if labor is still covered.
Looking at the diagrams, this washer seems to be pretty close in design to Whirlpool Duet.
Here is a Whirlpool Duet washer repair manual. It might come handy.
