If the item is rather old and has the high horsepower compressor, you can use a 3n1 hard start device on it, worth a try, just make sure you wire in the run capacitor if it has one. Good idea to monitor the current when plugging in. Remember, the run winding is the compressor terminal that the relay coil wire went to. Good luck
