GE Monogram Trivection Oven
Hi all. I'm looking for some assistance after much googling I need some help.
My oven above stopped working in "speedcook" mode which uses microwave energy along with the oven.
After reading up on failure modes I ordered a HV diode and took the oven top off. I was excited to see the diode burned out, but when it was replaced the following happened:
-Entered service mode - cook testing - Microwave
For a while nothing seemed to happen, my test water in the oven did not get warm.
Then I noticed the transformer got pretty warm, and then some smoke came out for a few seconds before I turned it off.
After that bit of fun I tested the transformer and there is no voltage coming out when the microwave portion is turned on (there is definitely input voltage).
I have tested the magnetron and it passes continuity tests.
So I'm thinking the transformer is the only thing wrong, but wanted to find out from some pros if the failure mode of diode & Transformer makes sense or if there could be another problem lurking.
Thanks so much.
