The freezer began to thaw out and the items in the fridge were beginning to sweat. After waiting a bit to make sure the temperature was getting warmer, we removed everything from both compartments and pulled the fridge away from the wall. The fan was spinning, but the compressor did not seem to be on. It was cool to the touch as well as all the other components located near it. There is no ice build up in the freezer and the walls of the fridge appear to be cool to the touch. We left a few ice packs in the freezer and a few items in the fridge to test them in the morning. When I checked the unit everything was cold again and the items in the freezer were frozen. The unit appears to be working again. We clean the back of the fridge often, so it is not a dust build up problem. A few weeks ago it was making a strange humming sound, but we payed no attention to it. There does not appear to be any electrical problems. The temperature setting for fridge and freezer are on. The ice maker and water are running fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
