Item 3 in Section 2 is the main thermostat it controls the compressor and both fans.

Item 8 in Section 2 is the damper thermostat. It is mechanical only and opens/closes the damper door Item 11.

Thing is I've had this unit open and the "damper thermostat" is electrical not mechanical. I'm pretty sure of this because both thermostats are wired into the harness and have temperature tubes coming from them. The main thermostat's temperature tube goes into the freezer section and the 'damper thermostat's temperature tube is coiled up behind that thermostat.

This is a Rev 11 model. I wonder if there was a change in design during production.
