I have a Whirlpool Oven/Microwave combination unit RFM2800P. It has worked well over the years and we have previously replaced the heating elements with good results. It now doesn't seem to reach the full operating temperature as selected. Visual inspection indicated the temperature sensor probe is at the end of it's life. It is charred and drooping to a crispy point.

Per Whirlpool parts line, the replacement part #308241 has been discontinued (as I believe it had been already in 1995 when we replaced the heating element). Does anyone know of a NOS resource for this? Alternately, is there a generic replacement or can I use a standard thermocouple in it's place?
