The part on the water valve which you called "resistor" actually is a thermistor. It reads the water temperature for the control board.

Check the thermistor terminals and replace the water valve if they are corroded. This is the most common cause for such problem but a few times I had to replace the water temperature control board together with the water valve. Especially if the indicator light on the control panel does not turn on.

There are two different kind of the water valve used for this washer depend on the first two digits in the serial number.

- The part number for the water valve with less the 18 series AP251433
