Concern over heating element
I just replaced the rear bearing kit and front felt. When I took it apart, I never really paid attention to the seating of the rear bearing. Once I finished the job, I noticed that there is a 1/4" gap between the back of the drum and the rim of the heater element housing. Is that correct? That seems like it could be a fire hazard. If I put the drum in further, it contacts the elements. Can someone please confirm that it is OK to have that small gap. If I use a mirror to see behind the drum, I can see the red elements when hot. I just need some piece of mind that it is ok and I did it correctly. Thanks for any help!
