Angry Dryer Truly Noisy But Working Fine?
Model Number: DPSQ495GT0AA   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi...I am recently widowed and my main man is gone. So while I watched him repair my dryer or whatever in the past, now it's on me. My house is sold and I need to get the dryer noise to stop so I do not feel guilty leaving it for the new people. In searching the web for help, it sounds like I need a new rear drum bearing kit. The belt is a year old and fine, the pulleys were replaced relatively recently, I pulled the dryer out from the wall and cleaned all the piping...so why has the silly thing picked this not-so-wealthy time in my life to start making screeching noises? Must be on the same wavelength as the handle on my microwave and my leaking sun porch. Drum turns fine, clothes dry to the tune of a loud, rhythmic scraping noise. Shifting the dryer around, tilting it back or forward makes no difference. And it is a constant sound now that it has begun. If I could get a little feedback, then I would order the rear drum bearing kit and wait until my college man get here to do the repair. Thank you
