GE Icemaker dripping inside
Model Number: tfx24srawh Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
This is a side by side GE with ice and water dispenser in the door. I just replaced the water inlet valve because it would not shut off and flooded my kitchen floor.
It worked fine for a few days, but now the icemaker is dripping water inside the freezer compartment, which freezes the ice cubes together and prevents the auger from dispensing the cubes.
I suspect a recent water department line repair set loose debris which crippled my inlet valve, causing the original problem. but i don't know if the current problem is related or not. Is there any way to clear this or do I have to replace the icemaker unit? For a 15 year old fridge, it works fine other than this issue, but if I have to replace the icemaker unit, I will have spent $150 on an old unit and maybe that's not such a good idea.
