Default Kitchen Aid Not Making Ice

How do you access the testing points on a Kitchen Aid 48 inch Side-by-Side Ref/Freezer to test the ice making module? I'm afraid to break the plastic outside panel by simply prying on it...I get water from the through the door dispenser, but its not making ice. Also, how do I determine if the water supply line to the ice maker is frozen?
