Most newer dryers have a thermal fuze and a overload thermostat. When the dryer overheats, the overload thermostat will trip ist, saving the fuze.
Your ducting may be clogged. Remove ducting and jam a thermometer in the dryer duct and measure the temp. should be around 145 degrees. If now ok just clean out the ducting in the house. They sell a linteater brush for this if needed.
