Default Removing old diposer
Model Number: 660   Brand: -brand-   Age: More than 10 years

Does anybody have any experience with removing an old garbage disposer with the brand name "National" on it? It may have been made by or was a division of Hobart. The rating label is faded and hard to read. I think this unit may be over 30 years old.

It has a mounting ring on it like most disposers, but doesn't look like it was designed to be rotated in place like most units. I could be wrong because it has a heavy wire "lever" sticking out the side of the mounting collar. I have tried to rotate it by this lever but it won't budge. I have not tried to rotate it REAL hard for fear of breaking off this lever. I can post a pic of it if it would be helpful

Any help would be appreciated.
