I cleaned the coils a couple of days ago for excessive dust and the fan was making a bit of a whining sound. I noticed later that the shell of the refrig was getting hot. I pulled off the back panel and noticed that the compressor fan was not functioning.
The fan blades are fine and the blades move freely (nothing is bent). I do think that I may have inadvertently pushed my cleaning brush into the fan assembly.
Is there a relay that is likely the cause of it not functioning or should I be more likely looking at the fan motor needing to be replaced? The fan was working before I started to clean the coils to remove the dust??
Thx.
