Default GE defrost timer operation (no multimeter)
Model Number: TFX22CRXF   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

I don't have a multimeter so I can't test the continuity of the defrost timer. I think I need one of these : AP2061695 but I'm not 100% sure. If the timer is faulty (prevents the defrost heater from coming on) will it still rotate through its cycles?

Also, assuming the temperature inside the freezer is cold enough to allow the defrost heater to turn on, shouldn't I see the heater (or feel the heat) come on? The freezer ran all night (after I defrosted it manually) and I think it was in "cooling" mode all night because the ice is already building up. This morning I rotated the timer to "defrost" mode and observed the heater. Nothing happened.

I don't have a multimeter.

The GE model number is TFX22CRXFWW (not TFX22CRXF).

Thanks,
Scott
