According to your description the problem could be one of two parts: the motor on the wash pump or the control board.
Your dishwasher is much less then two years old and both of these parts are still under limited manufacturer warranty. Whirlpool must provide the parts free of charge to you. You are liable only for the labor charge to replace them and it should be much less then $450.
