There should be continuity between the two large terminals (red wires), when cold. If this is your first time to check for continuity, you will want to make sure you disconnect at least one of the wires from the component you're checking, so that you won't read anything misleading rom the rest of the system. UPDATE: Followed your advice of disconnecting at least one wire before testing and discovered that the thermofuse was the problem. Replaced that and drier is heating up fine.
