I have changed both elements and the upper high limit thermostat. Normally the water temp is good, BUT.... occasionally the water is hot enough to scald the hide off of a pig!!!!
I've adjusted the elements half way down. And the water temp seems to cool down some, but still gets just as hot as before "on occasions".
