I have a Sears Kenmore Advantium 120 microwave/convection/speedcook oven that is completely dead. No power. With the fantastic help from this forum and this thread in particular, I found that the 12 amp fuse is blown, so I need to order one and hopefully that will fix the problem.
But since I have it out, I'd really like to check the temperature sensors (TCO's?) if possible and make sure they are also OK, since that is what most others have had issues with.
I found on page 51 of the
service manual found in another
thread, there is a table of Thermal Cut-Out Values for each TCO; at what temp they are open and closed. But having trouble interpreting it. It says to use a Ohmmeter to check for an Open TCO. For example:
Hood TCO: Open=104F Close=133F
If I put an Ohmmeter across the terminals of a TCO while in my garage, what should I see that will tell me if it's good or bad?
Just checking for continuity, my Magnetron TCO was the only thing that checked out, so I know that's not correct.
Thanks,
Tom
