Smile Dryer too hot in back and top
Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from

Model Number DVL223EYOWW is getting so hot it burned the sticker off the back.

I have it apart and believe one of the thermostats are bad. The vents are spotless and airflow is good.

I removed the Hi Limit Thermostat and put an ohm meter on it and it reads 0.000 which tells me its closed and good?????????

The control thermostat which has 4 points checks out with end to end points closed and top to bottom points reads 28 ohm so its open.

Something is causing the heating element to overheat.

What do recommend I do. Change the control stat or both?
