Problems after self clean mode
Model Number: RBS305PDQ12 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
I used the self clean feature yesterday. During the self cleaning my oven shutdown and the control panel went blank. Leaving the oven dead and the door locked. I could smell that something electrical had burned out. I removed the outside portion of the door and was able to push the hook over and unlock the door. Once I got to the control panel I could see that one of the components on the back had burned out. I located a new control panel for $180.00 and installed it. The new control panel came with a suppressor board. The instructions showed how to install it on the oven's terminal panel but gave no other information. I figured it was an improvement that came out on later models and installed it. After installing the new control panel and suppressor board everything looked like it was back to normal at first. Then I noticed that the oven wasn't getting hot. I set the oven to bake at 350 degrees and the control panel showed preheat mode and the counter counted down but the heating element never got hot. Is the new control panel defective, should I remove the suppressor board or is there another problem?
